Facebook

Facebook has almost 500 million users! If Facebook were a country it would be the 3rd largest in the world. Social media has overtaken porn as the #1 activity on the internet. Facebook is not “just for younger people”, the fastest growing segment on Facebook is 55-65 year old females.
- Create, Customize and Promote your Facebook Business Page, to see an example go to The West Valley Home Team’s Facebook page
- This is not just signing up for Facebook and having a profile page! There is a HUGE difference between Facebook Profiles vs. Facebook Pages
- Facebook Pages are indexed by major search engine’s and benefit from Facebook’s considerably high ranking
- Facebook Pages may be viewed by people that do not have account with Facebook
- Facebook Profiles are currently limited to 500 users, Facebook Pages do not have that limit
- Facebook Profiles are only meant for keeping in touch with family and friends, sharing photos, playing games etc…
- Facebook Pages are meant for advertising your business, networking with other businesses, sharing your knowledge and expertise, and most importantly generating income.
- Encourage past clients and new clients to ‘friend’ you or ‘add’ you to their networks. Include links to your profile in your marketing materials, business cards etc. Build out a brand new online “sphere”.
- Creating Groups – Create a “Avondale Homebuyers” group for example and help first time buyers with their questions. Leverage your expertise to become the expert in the group. Creating a unique Group is also a great way to keep in touch with business networking contacts you meet.
- If you’re a blogger, add your RSS feed to your profile. Facebook lets you add a Blog feed to your Notes, or you can use a Facebook Application called Networked Blogs to feed your Facebook Page. You could find new readers and even drive traffic back to your blog by sharing your posts with your network.
